INFRA-RED LIGHT EVALUATION AND TREATMENT
Infra-red light therapy is used for treatment of joint and muscle pain, numbness and tingling associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, or nerve pain. Infra-red light therapy increases blood flow by production of nitric oxide and reducing inflammation.
Infra-red lightpenetrates across the superficial tissue, reduces inflammatory processes, increase blood flow to the site, and reduce pain without a need for surgical or invasive modalities. In addition, infrared light therapy can treat peripheral neuropathy which is a sensation of burning, numbness, tingling and pain that often is present in patients with diabetes. In traditional or pharma- medicine there are no adequate treatments that can reverse this peripheral neuropathy as a neurological disorder, whereas it is very well controlled with utilization of oral/ intravenous substances along with infra-red light treatment.
